About me

The hands behind the hem

My journey in fashion began in Nigeria in 2019, where I spent a year learning sewing before moving to Paris to further develop my craft. Determined to turn my passion into a profession, I pursued formal training in pattern making (modélisme) at the Académie Internationale de Coupe de Paris (AICP). Over the past six years, I have grown from learning the foundations of sewing to developing my expertise in pattern drafting, structured tailoring and bespoke garment construction.

My experience includes working with several fashion brands in Paris and completing an internship at Marie Laporte, a bridal atelier where I gained valuable experience in wedding dress construction, fittings, delicate fabrics and couture hand-finishing. Today, I continue to refine my craft through both professional collaborations and the development of my own brand.

My approach to fashion is rooted in precision, quality and individuality. I believe that exceptional clothing begins with a thoughtful pattern, a beautiful fit and carefully selected fabrics, with every detail contributing to the final result. I am passionate about creating garments that combine technical excellence with creativity, while celebrating cultural heritage through contemporary design. From impeccably tailored suits to bridal gowns and traditional pieces, my goal is to create clothing that tells a story, reflects the identity of its wearer and stands out through its craftsmanship.

New milestone

The beginning of bridal at THE NUEL

Created for a friend who became my client, this gown was a deeply personal project. Inspired by her love for vintage elegance, understated details and comfort, I envisioned a timeless silhouette crafted in Mikado, chosen for its structure and refined, non-shiny finish. Two sculptural bows at the waist introduced a subtle fairy-tale touch, bringing softness and a princess-like charm to the design while preserving its elegance.

The creation unfolded over six and a half weeks: two and a half weeks dedicated to pattern making and prototyping, followed by four weeks of construction. Balancing the process with my internship meant working in the hours I could spare, sometimes just two hours a day. I remained committed to giving this gown the time and attention it deserved.

This creation marks a defining milestone for THE NUEL: my first wedding gown and the beginning of my journey into bridal couture. What once existed as a vision became a tangible expression of my craft, and I look forward to creating bespoke gowns for future brides who entrust me with their most meaningful moments.
